How to Auto-Thank People On Twitter For Mention or Retweet

A simple IFTTT Recipe can get all of your mentions thanked without you having to do anything! This is great for if you are primary use for Twitter is to send out links or to promote yourself. I wouldn’t advise using this if you are wanting to just engage in conversation.

You will need to enable Twitter in IFTTT and then use the following recipe.

Thanks for the mention! {{UserName}} {{LinkToTweet}}

You can manipulate the text to say anything you want.

    Yeah, but it’s pretty much useless because through IFTTT you can’t make the Twitter name live, thus the people you’re thanking don’t get notified of the thank. If you try to add @ before the {{UserName}} IFTTT won’t save the action.

      Yea I don’t understand why they can’t have the recipe use the @ symbol to actually mention the person.
